Come and explore the wonderful world of oil painting. Levels: This course is designed for beginners, intermediate and advanced painters.

Subjects explored throughout this course:
Still Lives: Monochromatic, limited palette, and full palette. You will have the opportunity to set up your own personal still lives throughout the course.
Landscapes: Limited and full palette. You will have the experience of painting your favorite locations from photographs (references). Throughout the year you will also have the option of attending en plein air (French meaning in the open air) workshops. These workshops are very similar to the type of painting Monet, Renoir and other impressionists studied.
Portraiture: Monochromatic, limited palette, and full palette.
Styles explored throughout this course:
Alla Prima technique: Italian for at once. This technique is often referred to as wet on wet. Our goal is to create one painting each class. Everyone has their own style of painting and you will develop your own. There is no limit to what you can explore and achieve.
Suggestions are: Traditional, realism, surrealism, abstract, impressionism, contemporary, and modern.
